WATERVILLE, Maine — The unbeaten Bowdoin College women’s basketball team forced 27 turnovers on the defensive end and had 22 assists on 26 made field goals in a 60-38 win over Colby College in non-conference play Saturday at Wadsworth Gymnasium.
The Polar Bears are 5-0 overall, while the Mules drop to 3-3. The league game between the two teams will take place at Bowdoin on Saturday, Jan. 28.
In a rare game, no player had double figures in scoring. Marle Curle had the best all-around game with nine assists, eight rebounds, six points, and three steals for Bowdoin. Lydia Caputi added nine points and four assists, while Cordelia Stewart, Lauren Petit, and Kate Kerrigan all had eight points. Ally Silfen finished with six points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
Haley Driscoll led Colby with six points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Emily Davis had a team-high seven points and six boards, while MK Caverly added five points, four rebounds, and three assists.
The Polar Bears forced 17 turnovers in the opening half and shot 51.6 percent from the field in taking a 40-16 lead at the break. The Mules had a 44-36 rebounding advantage, but Bowdoin had just 15 turnovers and finished with 13 steals.
