The Bobcats scored 11 runs in the second inning to run away from North Central University in their second game of their day and season on Thursday.

Sophomore Sam Fellers (Mendham, N.J.) tossed a one-hitter in the circle for the Bobcats (1-1) in the victory.

Russo set the table all day by scoring four runs at the top of the lineup, including two in the aforementioned second inning.

Head coach McKell Barnes was thrilled with the team’s hitting. “We were making solid contact all game, getting hit after hit,” said Barnes.

North Central’s lone hit came on a single off the middle on a changeup as Fellers worked on her secondary stuff.

The Bobcats’ 17 runs is the most they’ve scored in one game since they plated 22 at Fisher in 2012.
