At Scarborough, Dan LeClair ran for a 3-yard touchdown with 2:22 left in the first quarter and Kenny Adams added a 5-yard rushing TD a minute into the second quarter to stake the Red Storm to a 14-0 halftime lead en route to the victory in the first-ever football matchup between the two schools.
Scarborough struck again early in the third quarter when quarterback Ben Greenberg hit Adams with a 49-yard scoring strike with 10:44 left in the quarter. Bangor answered by mounting a drive, but that was halted with a fumble recovered by Scarborough’s Chris Cyr.
Cyr followed up his timely defensive play when he scored on a 5-yard reverse with 2:42 left in the third quarter.
LeClair added another rushing TD, this one from seven yards out with 8:57 left in the game.
Ben Crichton put Bangor on the scoreboard when he ran in a TD from the five and Brennan Corliss followed up with a extra-point kick.
Scarborough and Bangor are both 1-1.
