At Boulos Stadium in Portland, Joe Fitzpatrick ran for 209 yards on 37 carries with two touchdowns to power No. 1 Cheverus by No. 4 Bangor in an East Class A semifinal.
Cheverus (8-1) will host Windham for the regional title on Saturday. Windham handed the Stags their only loss, 35-7 on Sept. 27.
Bangor, which was hurt by four turnovers, finished at 5-4.
The Stags surged to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter when Fitzpatrick rushed for a four-yard TD and Zordan Holman recovered a fumble in the end zone.
Fitzpatrick added a six-yard TD run in the second quarter for a 21-0 Cheverus lead at the half and the Stags scored again in the third when Justin Johnston plowed in from the one.
Bangor got on the board late in the third quarter when quarterback Brian Pierce connected for a 67-yard TD pass to Joe Johnson. Cheverus closed out the scoring on Justin Johnson’s one-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.
Patrick Mourmouras kicked four extra points for the Stags. Holman recovered three fumbles.
The Stags held Bangor’s leading rusher, Dane Johnson, to 31 yards on 17 carries.
