Woodlawn to offer a talk on Tick Exposure Prevention

Woodlawn is pleased to announce that it will hold a program titled “Tick Talk: Exposure Prevention” on Friday, April 13, 9:30-10:30 am.

With the return of the warm weather comes the return of deer ticks. Join us on Friday, April 13, from 9:30 to 10:30 am, for a lecture with Vicki Rea, Field Epidemiologist for the Maine CDC who will discuss tick exposures and illnesses in Maine. Her talk will include a brief description of tick biology, ecology, lyme and other diseases, and prevention recommendations for exposure to ticks.

The program is free and open to the public, but your donation to help Woodlawn develop more programs is greatly appreciated. As space is limited, call Woodlawn at 667-8671 to reserve a seat.

Woodlawn is an educational, cultural, and recreational treasure for the people of Downeast ME. The main house is open for tours May 1st through October 31st.
