STOCKTON SPRINGS, Maine — The Good Kettle, 247 Route 1, in Stockton Springs will host a benefit wine tasting for the Waldo County Humane Society 5-7 p.m. Thursday Sept. 19, at the restaurant.
Featured at the event will be guest artist Erwin Flewelling of Northport.  Flewelling has carved more than 500 birds of various species.  His work has been entered in many competitions up and down the east coast.  He finds inspiration outside the windows of his home in Northport as he observes the abundant species of birds that visit his feeders. Delicate feather pins and small birds for Christmas tree decorations also are part of his creative repertoire.
Light appetizers paired with selected wines will be served. Ten percent of sales profit will benefit the Waldo County Humane Society.
