USCG Paddle Smart Safety Course at the CCLC

The Cobscook Community Learning Center will be the site of a two-week U.S. Coast Guard Paddle Smart Safety course, conducted by Doug Gaither, USCG Reserve.

Saturday, May 11 & 18, 12:00-2:00pm.

“Paddle Smart” is designed to be an introductory course to meet the boater education needs for operating a paddlecraft – specifically a canoe or kayak. The course provides a wide variety of information: general information about paddlecraft and maintenance, information to make your paddlecraft experience safer and more comfortable, tips on how to be a more courteous paddlecraft operator and the laws and regulations to which you must adhere.

Cost for this course is $20 per person.
