The University of Maine at Fort Kent Student Nurses Organization (SNO) will host a Polar Bear 5K Run/Walk Race on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Race time is 10 a.m.

Race-day registration will begin at 8 a.m. at the UMFK Cyr Hall parking lot.

The fee for the race is $15 per person. The first 100 people to register will receive a race t-shirt. The race route is around the mills. No rain date is scheduled.

Racers will compete in four different age groups: under age 18; age 18 through 29; age 30 through 44 and age 45 and up. Prizes will be awarded to top finisher in each age division.

The proceeds will benefit SNO and a local charity.

SNO received contributions from the following local businesses: Acadia Federal Credit Union; Albert’s Jewelry and Awards; China Garden; Daigle Oil Company; Dead River Company; Fort Kent Ski Doo; John’s Shurfine Food Store; Roy Auto Parts, Paradis Shop ’n Save and Pharmacy; Pelletier Ford; Quigley’s Building Supply; and Valley Auto.
