ORONO, Maine — The University of Maine School of Performing Arts will present “Spring Awakening,” a Broadway smash-hit rock musical about teenagers exploring their sexuality. The show will be stages at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15 and 16; 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 21-23; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17 and Feb. 24, at Class of 1944 Hall, University of Maine.
The Tony Award-winning show, with music by Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater, is based on a controversial German play, “Spring Awakening” (1891) by Frank Wedekind.
