Bar Harbor library hosts workshop & concert by singer-songwriter-producer Jay Psaros

BAR HARBOR — The Jesup Memorial Library in Bar Harbor welcomes Boston singer-songwriter-producer Jay Psaros for a rare Monday-evening event on July 15 beginning at 7 p.m. – a workshop about creating and producing music in today’s market, followed by a concert.

This event is free and open to all.

After the release of his debut album “Tripping and Running,” Jay embarked on a DIY tour which was promoted, funded and booked independently. The following year he released “On Up the Road,” which secured his reputation as a regional artist to watch. He began getting radio play, first regionally, then nationally then internationally when he hit the airwaves in Asia and Europe.

His third CD, and EP called “Simply” was released and debuted at number 39 on the National Folk Radio DJ Charts and broke into the Top 100 of the Roots Music Report Charts. Earlier this year “Simply” was named runner-up for EP of the Year for a Solo Artist by Limelight Magazine.

A master guitarist and precision storyteller, Jay has also founded his own record label called PB and Jay Records, which has released three EPs to excellent reviews. PB and Jay is the exclusive music agent for “Songwriters in the Alley” at the Boston Harbor Hotel.

Jay has been compared to artists including James Taylor, Tommy Emmanuel, Tom Petty and John Hiatt. His music incorporates many genres.
