Astronomer Doug Rich will talk about supernovas and how to search for them. The presentation will cover the different methods used to find exploding stars and will also cover the formation of the Eagle Hill Supernova Search Project. Rich will talk about the different types of supernovae and where they are found, spectral characteristics, and other supernova facts and trivia. He will also touch on novae, with a brief mention of Nova 2013 Delphini, and how these less luminous exploding stars compare to supernovae.
