New Surry Theatre of Blue Hill presents the timeless story of The Man of La Mancha, a musical directed by Shari John with musical direction by Scott Cleveland, choreography by Maureen Robinson, and combat choreography by Angela Bonacasa. This is the story of playwright Miguel de Cervantes who is captured with his manservant by the Spanish Inquisition. His fellow inmates seize his manuscript and subject him to a mock trial in which he must perform its contents. The manuscript tells the story of Don Quixote, a knight of somewhat unusual colors who paints a distinctly unique portrait of the quest for the most honorable life possible. Quixote beckons us all “to dream, the impossible dream,” and, joined by a colorful cast of characters and a beautiful musical score, strives to do good, dreaming of a better world. Join us, beginning March 30th, for a journey with a wonderful madman and help him put wickedness back in its box.
Performances are March 30&31, April 12-14 and April 19-21 at 7PM and April 1 & 15 at 3PM at the Blue Hill Town Hall Theater.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for students and seniors. For reservations, call 207.200.4720.
