Join Bar Harbor’s IPM and the UCC of Northeast Harbor & Seal Harbor on Monday, October 21 at 6:00pm as they sponsor a talk by Rev. Dr. J Clinton McCann of the Eden Theological Seminary at the Parish Hall of the Union Church in Northeast Harbor. McCann will be using the academic works of Ellen F. Davis and others to explore the agrarian nature of the Hebrew Scriptures, creating a convincing theological foundation for creation-care and responsible ecological behavior.

McCann holds degrees from Davidson College, Union Presbyterian Seminary, and received his Doctorate from Duke University. His expertise lies in extensive study of the Book of Psalms, and he has taught, preached, or led workshops for church and academic gatherings in twenty-six states, including over one hundred congregations representing twelve denominations. Internationally, he has led groups of students on study/travel seminars to Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. He enjoys an active lifestyle, competing in local, regional, and national Senior Olympic events and endurance running – and will be a participant in the 2013 MDI Marathon on behalf of IPM!

This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshment and discussion will occur after the lecture.
