Susan Barrett Merrill to lead a weaving workshop at Woodlawn

ELLSWORTH: Woodlawn is pleased to have Susan Barrett Merrill lead a weaving workshop at Woodlawn, Friday, August 24, from 9 am to 4 pm.

A weaver, spinner, author and teacher, Susan Barret Merrill will lead the hands-on workshop open to new and experienced weavers. Participants will weave a friendship keepsake on the Journey Loom, a small lap loom, and learn about the history of weaving in Maine. The cost for the workshop scheduled on Friday, August 24, from 9 am to 4 pm, is $90 for Woodlawn members/$100 for non-members and includes materials and loom rental. The Journey Loom will also be available for purchase after the workshop. Participants are asked to bring a bag lunch. Susan is descended from six generations of Maine women who have worked with fiber, weaving, spinning, knitting, crocheting, and rug making. She has taught for many years.
