Did you know children need to read during the summer? Reading during the summer helps to maintain and improve reading skills. The Summer Read Program is a great way to encourage children to read and it’s fun!! Come sign up for a fun-filled program at the Simpson Memorial Library, 8 Plymouth Rd, Carmel.

The program is open to children ages infant to 13. This year’s theme is “Dream Big, Read.” The kick off event is Tuesday, June 19th at 11:30 at the Golden Harvest Grange on Rt. 2 in Carmel with special guest, Katy Rydell, author and storyteller from Portland, ME. Katy has visited the library before and is a wonderful entertainer. Weekly activities will be held on Tuesdays from June 19th to July 31, 11:30 to 12:30 at the Golden Harvest Grange.
