St. Peter’s hosts annual pancake luncheon March 4

ROCKLAND, Maine — The annual tradition of a pancake luncheon will having seatings at 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. The women of the parish will prepare and serve pancakes with maple syrup, sausage, sherbet, cookies, coffee and tea.

The luncheon is open to all and all proceeds from the admission charge of $7 for adults and $3 for children will be donated to the Methodist Conference Home’s Meals on Wheels program. No reservations are needed.

March 4 is the day before Ash Wednesday which marks the beginning of the Christian season of fasting and prayer called Lent ending with Easter. In the Anglican Church in England the day is called Shrove Tuesday.
