With items ranging from airplane rides to dining certificates to vacation rentals, The Salvation Army is gearing up for its Harvest Auction, an annual fundraising event to be held at Spectacular Event Center in Bangor this Saturday, October 20, at 5:30 p.m.

The auction has been a tradition for more than 20 years, and this year is taking an exciting new approach by including a sit-down meal of pasta, salad, rolls and dessert for a small fee of $10.00 along with a silent auction.

The funds raised through this event support The Salvation Army’s year-round work in the Greater Bangor area, including the food pantry, utility assistance, rental assistance, clothing for children and adults, sending youngsters to summer camp and much more.

“This is an enjoyable night out for those who want to support their community while also having the opportunity to bid on some truly unique items,” said Captain Tim Clark, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army in Bangor. “It is a way to make an impact on the needs of our community throughout the year.”

The long list of items that will be available include a vacation rental in Surrey, an hour-long scenic airplane ride, gift certificates for dining at many area restaurants, hand-made quilts, golf equipment, home electronics and many unique offerings.

Tickets can be purchased for $10.00 at The Salvation Army locations at 65 South Park Street in Bangor, or 585 Broadway in Bangor. Tickets can also be reserved by calling 941-2990.
