Duchenne MD is the No.#1 Genetic Killer of boys & girls across the globe. 1 out of 3,500 boys are dx with DMD (though rare girls can also have DMD). It is not always the case of it being genetic, it can happen with a new mutation and it can happen in any family. Duchenne is not prejudice. It has been since the yr. 1990 when my son Adam was 1st dx with this fatal disease and sadly today not many have heard of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and what is even sadder is the number of medical professionals that have never heard of it either. Please research Duchenne and see what it means to a family when they hear their child has this disease.
