University of Maine’s School of Performing Arts to Produce Landmark Marriage Equality Play by Academy Award-Winning Screenwriter of Milk & J. Edgar

Orono, Maine – UMaine’s School of Performing Arts, with license from the American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) and Broadway Impact, is proud to announce a one-night-only staged reading of “8,” a play chronicling the historic trial in the federal constitutional challenge to California’s Proposition 8. The reading will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in Minsky Hall at the University of Maine. Admission is free and open to the public.

Following the performance, there will be an audience talk back.
