Project to showcase veterans’ art

AUGUSTA, Maine –  The Maine Veterans Art Project will present Veterans Day 2012: A Celebration of the Veteran-Artist on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Togus veterans’ hospital.

An art show opening reception will take place at 3 p.m. A stage performance and question and answer session will be held 3:30-7 p.m. at the Togus Theater, Building 210 on the hospital campus.

Veterans will present their experience, voice and vision through visual art, poetry, story and film. If you are a Veterans who would like to submit artwork to be shown at the event should call Roland Perkins at 207-474-7107.

The Maine Veterans Art Project uses visual art, writing, music and drama for self-expression, to connect to other veterans, and inform the public about the realities of service, war and homecoming.
