A Project Learning Tree (PLT) preK-12 workshop for area teachers, school volunteers, non-formal educators and natural resource professionals. Learn about our Forest Inventory Growth (FIG) program and how to use it in a forest outside your school. This includes opportunities for data collection and interpretation while learning how to ID trees and understanding forest health. Linda Woodard from Maine Audubon will share information about their Citizen Science opportunities. Explore and experience ready to use lessons from the PLT guides. With thanks to Lee Academy, morning coffee, snacks & lunch will be provided. Dress for outdoor activities and enjoy the networking, connections to your curriculum requirements and relaxed time with colleagues. Participants will receive, by choice, either the PreK-8 PLT Environmental Education Activity Guide or the Focus on Forests guide. A certificate of attendance and a variety of take home resources are included for a total fee of $40/professionals and $35/pre-service college students.
