College of the Atlantic Physics and Mathematics Professor David Feldman will present on nonlinear dynamics, often referred to as “chaos theory”. This relatively new, interdisciplinary, area of study explores the origins of pattern and unpredictability in physical and natural systems. Its impact has been felt throughout the sciences, and ideas from chaos theory have entered popular culture and consciousness.
