The USM School of Music celebrates the Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra’s 70th anniversary with a performance of Gustav Mahler’s 3rd Symphony. In classic Mahler design, the performance will bring together a large orchestral force involving the Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra, the School of Music Women’s Choir, the Southern Maine’s Children’s Choir, and faculty artists. The Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra will be lead by conductor Robert Lehmann. Teresa Harold ’02, Mezzosoprano, Metropolitan Opera. This performance will take place on Thursday, November 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Merrill Auditorium, Myrtle Street, Portland. There will be a suggested $12 donation at the door; open seating.
