PORTLAND, Maine — Pete Didisheim of Brunswick, Maine, the Polar Bear and Emmie Theberge of Hallowell, Maine, took part in the 2012 Polar Bear Dip. Support the Natural Resources Council of Maine’s work to reduce climate change pollution by taking part in the bone-chilling 2013 fun 5K run and Polar Bear dip at noon Monday, Dec. 31, at East End Beach.
Register in advance at nrcm.kintera.org/dipdash. Registration fee is $30 Friends and family can pledge to help raise money and awareness about climate change and what the council is doing in Maine to curb it. Learn more and pledge make pledges at http://www.nrcm.org/dipdash.
The first 200 to sign-up for the dip, the dash or both will receive a bpa-free water bottle. Prizes will be awarded for top finishers, best costume, youngest and oldest participants and top fundraisers.
