Polar Bear Dip, 5K Race to help fight climate change

PORTLAND, Maine — Bone chilling fun is on the menu at the Polar Bear Dip and 5k Race on Monday, Dec. 31, at East End Beach. Registration opens at 10 a.m., the race begins at 11 a.m and the dip will take place at noon.

Registration fee is $30. Proceeds from the event will support the Natural Resources Council of Maine’s work to reduce climate change pollution.

Register in advance at nrcm.kintera.org/dipdash. The first 200 to sign-up for the event will receive a BPA-free water bottle.

Prizes for top finishers, best costume, youngest and oldest participants and top fundraisers will be awarded.
