More than 25 well-known and emerging poets, University of Maine students, local high school poets, and others celebrate National Poetry Month. In its 11th year, Poets/Speak! Is honoring writing friendships and poet collaborations. The celebration will also feature the debut of the online journal The Catch, Latin love poems and four Belfast poet laureates. Come early to hear live jazz by the Lidral Duo, browse books, meet the poets and enjoy refreshments.
Participating poets will include: Ellen Sander, current Belfast Poet Laureate, James Brophy, Linda Buckmaster, Jason Canniff, Kathleen Ellis, Jacob Fricke, Elizabeth Garber, Ellen Goldsmith, Emma Howard, Annaliese Jakimides, Valerie Lawson, Carl Little, Carolyn Locke, Megan London, Thomas Moore, Lisa Panepinto, Tina Passman, Bruce Pratt, Patricia Ranzoni and more.
The program is free and open to everyone.
