PITTSFIELD, Maine — The sixth annual Regional Job Fair for Central Maine and the Sebasticook Valley will be held 3:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, at Warsaw Middle School Gym and Cafeteria at 167 School St.

Several free workshops will be available for job seekers and those interested in starting their own businesses.

The free workshops will be given in a block of classrooms in Warsaw Middle School near the Gym (follow the arrows on your right as you enter the school by the Gym), as follows:

  • 3:35 – 4:30 PM Maine CareerCenter Q & A. During this interactive workshop, professionals from the Maine CareerCenter will be available to help you target your work search problem areas and answer any questions you have about how to effectively use the centers in your quest for employment.
  • 4:35 – 5:30 PM Starting Your Own Business. Discover the resources and opportunities available to start your own business from a former business owner who has a keen understanding of business operations including management, human resources, sales and marketing.
  • 5:35 – 6:30 PM Maximizing Social Media in Your Job Search. Learn how to best use LinkedIn to network with people, companies, and how to market yourself. Will also include the best job search websites to use and how to create job search agents in them.

Also, there is a unique opportunity for interested job seekers to sign up for the nationally known WorkReady Program to begin next week. Receive a certificate when the program is finished. WorkReady is endorsed by businesses and provides specific skills many employers look for when hiring.
