The Chapter’s winter trips to southern Maine are renowned for great birding. This year, we’re hitting the coast from York to Biddeford Pool. Cliffside walks and sandy beaches put us close to sea birds and we anticipate finding many species, including Harlequin Ducks. We’ll also search for hard-to-find species such as Thick-billed Murre, King Eider, and Pacific Loon. Expect three species of scoter, two grebes, two merganers, plus Buffleheads, Long-tailed Ducks, and Purple Sandpipers. Bring your own lunch, beverages, and warm clothing.
Sunday, March 24, meet at 7:30 a.m., return by dark
Leaders: Bob and Sandi Duchesne
Cost: $20/member of Maine Audubon; $25/nonmember. Call 989-2591 to register. Limit: 10.
