Each year the Penobscot Navy League Council, in partnership with Maine Maritime Academy (MMA), hosts afternoon sunset cruises of Penobscot Bay aboard MMA’s historic schooner Bowdoin. The purpose of these cruises is to raise money for scholarships for outstanding Naval ROTC students at both MMA and the University of Maine. Funds are also used to recognize the Northern New England Coast Guard Sailor of the Year and to support local sea cadet units.

This year’s cruises will be held on Monday and Tuesday, 16 and 17 September. Cost is $35 per person. Passengers are requested to be at the Castine Town Dock by 3:30 p.m. in order to ensure a 4:00 p.m. departure. Cruises typically last two and one-half hours.

For reservations, please contact Chris Kopang at (207) 561-2605. The Bowdoin can only accommodate 35 passengers each day. Reservations must be made no later than Monday, 09 September.
