Downeast Lakes Land Trust is pleased to co-host a visit from bestselling author Paul Doiron on July 27th. Paul will read from and discuss his new crime novel, Massacre Pond, set in Grand Lake Stream at 7:30 PM at Weatherby’s.

The book concerns a fictional scenario where Downeast Lakes Land Trust never existed. Instead, it features controversial efforts by a wealthy animal rights activist to create a new national park on 100,000 acres west of West Grand Lake—and the violent outcome that follows.

Doiron’s novels about Maine game warden Mike Bowditch have won the Barry Award, the Strand Critics Award, and the Maine Literary Award, and have been translated into ten languages.

Books will be available and a portion of proceeds will benefit the Downeast Lakes Land Trust.

The event is free and open to the public
