Think yoga and Parkinson’s disease can’t be used in the same sentence? Patti Kristiansen, COTA/L, RYT, will encourage members of the area’s Parkinson’s Support Group to think again when she addresses the group at its next meeting.

Kristiansen will discuss and demonstrate the benefits of yoga practice for everyone, including those with physical challenges.

A certified occupational therapy assistant, Kristiansen also owns the Thomaston Yoga Studio, where she specializes in yoga for people with special needs.

Support group meetings take place regularly on the first Tuesday of each month, from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m., at the Anderson Inn. Meetings are free and offer learning and fellowship to all those living with Parkinson’s disease as well as their loved ones and caregivers. Attendees are generally encouraged to bring bag lunches; Quarry Hill provides beverages and desserts.
