The Waldo Art Ware Alliance art market will now be every Friday at Waterfall Arts. This Friday, June 29, Marion Brown will be doing a rug-hooking demonstration.

“Many people confuse rug hooking with latch hook rug making,” explains Brown, “but rug hooking is a craft where a rug is made by pulling loops of yarn or woolen fabric through a foundation of linen, cotton warp cloth or burlap. Often used woolen clothing is recycled to be used in the rug either as is or dyed with acid fast fabric dye or natural dyes.”

The Friday art market will also be expanding its inclusion of the healing arts. Along with Amy Robbins-Wilson’s healing music, Alexandra Chaplin, a licensed massage therapist for nine years, and an occupational therapist for almost 20, will offer chair massage at the market.

Also this featured in this week’s art market will be Amy Robbins-Wilson with storytelling, cd’s and felted work; Jean Fink-fabric arts and spinning during storytelling; Shelagh Delphyne-photography; Jeannette Micoleau-pottery; Sue Reed-jewelry and paintings; Sue Cobb-semi-precious pendants; Sarah Gorden-sculpted wire jewelry, Marion Brown-hand dyed wool, rug hooking and demonstration; Alexandra Chapin-chair massage; Bill Davis-pottery and Kelly kelsey-Davis-jewelry.
