BANGOR, Maine — The Chamber Choir will perform Sacred Choral Music for Advent at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St.

The program will include A Ceremony of Carols, Op. 28, written by Benjamin Britten (1913-1976), with harpist Isleen Halvorsen; motets by Josquin des Prez (c. 1450-1521), Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525-1594), Hendrik Andriessen (1892-1981), Albert de Klerk (1917-1998) and Jan Mul (1911-1971); and organ music by Samuel Scheidt (1587-1654).

Admission is free but donations will be accepted.
