Bangor — The Rotary Club of Bangor is scheduled to present its 7th annual Music Off Broadway production on Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, March 25 at 3 pm at Bangor High School’s Peakes Auditorium. This year’s theme is Music from the Movies: reminisce as we bring your favorite on-screen moments to music.
With Roger George producing and Heather Astbury-Libby and Kevin Bate co-directing, a cast of about 40 talented community members will perform music from movies including “Wizard of OZ,” “Blues Brothers,” “Footloose,” “Singing in the Rain,” “Dirty Dancing,” “9 – 5,” “Top Gun,” “Sister Act,” and a Disney Medley.
Music Off Broadway is the club’s largest annual fundraising effort with proceeds going to support local nonprofit service organizations. Proceeds from the 2012 show will benefit:
• The Charlotte White Center
• Hammond Street Senior Center
• Phillips-Strickland House
• Camp Jordan
• The Gifts of Music.
Tickets – $18 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for youth – will be available starting February 1 from club members and at BookMarc’s, Mr. Paperback at the Airport Mall, Patrick’s Hallmark at Broadway Shopping Center and prior to each performance at the door.
