BLUE HILL, Maine — Artist Judith Taylor will give a lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Blue Hill Public Library. Taylor painted the labor mural, “The History of Maine” that was made famous when it was ordered removed from the Maine Department of Labor by Gov. Paul LePage in March 2011. Approximately a year later a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit that sought to have the mural reinstated. The case remains under appeal. Full-sized reproductions of the panels are currently on display at the library through Friday, Dec. 14.
Taylor will will be introduced by Brooksville artist, Rob Shetterly, who has been a plaintiff in the case to restore the paintings.
The lecture is free and open to all. For information, call the library at 207-374-5515.
