PORTLAND, Maine — Join us for the MOOSE Open Mic/Spoken Word & Storyteller: Chameleon Chronicles at Portland Public Library. This event is held on the second Wednesday of every month. The Maine Organization Of Storytelling Enthusiasts (MOOSE) holds a Spoken Word Open Mic plus a Featured Storyteller at Rines Auditorium in the Portland Public Library. Meet & Greet at 6:30 p.m. Open mic at 7 p.m. Featured performer at 8:10 p.m. Arrive early and meet other MOOSE members over a cup of coffee or tea. Snacks are provided for a donation. The January 9 event features host Michael Parent (who can be reached at 879-0401) and performer Jackson Gillman. Come and enjoy Gillman’s perceptions of life. Sign up for the open Microphone with the Host for that month. Original and traditional stories 10 minutes or less are welcomed at the open mic hosted by a different Moose Member each month. These stories are to be told not read. (crib notes are allowed for works in progress only). Enjoy the featured Professional Story Performer for a suggested donation of $5 per person. Open to the all adults and teenagers that listen like adults.
