CAMDEN, Maine — Midcoast Actor’s Studio will present August Strindberg’s masterpiece, “Miss Julie,” adapted by Chicago playwright Penny Penniston, at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7-8; and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at St. Thomas Church, 33 Chestnut St.
Jason Bannister directs the play. It stars Marie Merrifield as Miss Julie the count’s daughter, Bannister as Jean the valet and Jen Oldham as Kirstin the cook.
The play was banned for being controversial when first written in the late 1800s. It deals with mature themes of class, love, the power struggles of the battle of the sexes.
Tickets are $10, $7 students and seniors.
