Real estate and development association to hold conference in Portland

PORTLAND, Maine — The Maine Real Estate and Development Association will host its Real Estate Forecast Conference and Member Showcase 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay.

Commissioner George Gervais of Maine’s Department of Economic and Community Development will serve as event keynote speaker. Gervais, and other leading experts from across Maine, will offer forecasts of what lies ahead for the state’s economy, with particular focus on commercial real estate by region and key market sectors, including office, retail, industrial, residential and multi-family properties.

Dr. Charles Colgan of the University of Southern Maine Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service will deliver the Economic Forecast for the state of Maine and will unveil the “MEREDA Index,” a new metric that illustrates the statistical changes and measures the pulse of the commercial real estate industry in Maine.

The member showcase portion of the event will feature 60 of Maine’s real estate firms and related industries.
