ORONO, Maine — The Orono Public Library will present the next “Wednesday Wonders” at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the library. Candace Kanes, curator and historian of Maine Memory Network at the Maine Historical Society in Portland, will speak on ”Maine’s History and the Internet.”
Maine Memory Network, a project of the Maine Historical Society, has been online for more than a decade. It is a collaborative project; more than 220 organizations with historical collections relating to Maine history have images, manuscript items, or images of artifacts on the site. Online exhibit, community histories, a narrative history of the state, and numerous other features also can be found on the site.
