Maine author Morgan Callan Rogers is at the Jesup Memorial Library, 34 Mount Desert St., on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. with “Ruby Red Heart in a Cold Blue Sea,” a charming coming-of-age tale set in the coastal Maine of the 1960s.

It was an international hit in hardcover and is out now in paperback. “This is kind of a love letter to the people I grew up with , and am still privileged to know,” said the author, who grew up in Bath as part of a Maine family of many generations.
