This true story, which receives rave reviews on Amazon, is the tale of falling in love with a woman who has five children and buying a square-rigged sailing barge for family vacations along the coast of England and France. The author recounts twenty years of hilarious, and sometimes dangerous, adventures learning to sail the vessel and keep her afloat, and they sail in and out of beautiful, charming European harbors.

Penobscot Marine Museum’s winter exhibit Underfoot: Footwear, Hooked Rugs, In the Cellar and Below Decks runs through Saturday, Feb. 22. Museum Gallery, Shop and Framer hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
