ROCKLAND, Maine — Denise Anderson will speak and show slides about her Sierra Club sponsored trip to The Gates of the Arctic National Park at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Community Room of the Rockland Public Library. Her bush plane landed in Anaktuvuk Pass within the Arctic Circle in July, a time of year when the sun never sets. She and other Sierra Club members followed the Anaktuvuk river of the Brooks Range for eight days.
The event is free and open to all. Special accommodations for persons with disabilities can be made with 48 hours notice. For information, call the library at 207-594-0310.
