On Friday, November 15, at 7PM, the Cobscook Community Learning Center will welcome Leonore Hildebrandt and Brian Stewart who will present an evening of original songs, poems and improvised performance with reflections on love, life, family, war and peace at the Third Friday Coffeehouse.
As a folk duo with a jazzy flair, Leonore and Brian write, arrange, and play their own songs. They have performed over many years and recorded several CDs. Brian plays piano and guitar, and Leonore does percussion. They both sing.
Leonore is a German-born poet, teacher, and editor. Brian is a computer wizard. From schools and churches to pubs and online piano concerts, Brian has brought his music into the community. Both live with their families in Harrington, where they built their own houses and grow lovely gardens.
Admission for this event is by donation, $5 suggested, which goes to the featured performers. We will offer an open-mic segment for audience participants wishing to take the stage. Coffee, tea and homemade treats will be for sale. Please note, after November, the Coffeehouse will go on hiatus for undetermined amount of time. The Cobscook Community Learning Center is located at 10 Commissary Point Road in Trescott. For more information, please call 733-2233 or visit www. cclc.me.
