Experience nature up close and personal on a guided kayak tour from Port Clyde Kayaks. Join Georges River Land Trust for this special trip on Saturday, September 8th at 2 pm (rain date is Sunday, September 9th at 2 pm). Tickets to the event benefit the Georges River Land Trust and are $65 for Land Trust members and $70 for non-members. Tickets must be purchased in advance either on-line at or by calling (207) 594-5166. The trip is limited to 18 people.

On the 2.5 hour tour there is a good chance you will see seals, porpoises, osprey, and bald eagle. Shore birds abound on the rocky coast as you paddle from the beautiful village of Port Clyde to the mouth of the St. George River and around the nearby islands of Muscongus Bay. Dolphins are often seen in tranquil Deep Cove as they hunt for fish. Paddlers will take a stretch break on a nearby island. Upon returning to Port Clyde, guests are invited to join Port Clyde Kayaks on the deck overlooking the harbor for light refreshments.

This tour is appropriate for beginners and experienced kayakers alike. If you are in need of instruction, please arrive 30 minutes in advance. Children 12 years and above are welcome.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Georges River Land Trust works to conserve the ecosystems and traditional heritage of the Georges River watershed region through permanent land protection, stewardship, education and outdoor experiences.
