In days gone by rural folks often wrote poems about their unusual experiences, particularly sporting adventures, and the long winters of eastern Maine lent themselves to armchair verse. This oral history preserved many curious tales that would otherwise have been lost. Join us for an evening of fun and hear how Uncle Percy slayed the dragon, as local people recite their favorite family poems. Bring yours along to share. Bud Brooks will sign copies of “The Hunter’s Lament,” a classic bear tale of the Maine woods.
