The Wilderness Area protects segments of the Appalachian Trail and provides a magnificent backdrop for recreation in every season. Join Dirk Dewley, registered Maine guide, for a beautiful hike through mature forests strewn with enormous glacial boulders, with spectacular views of Mount Katahdin and a descent into the ice cave for a chilly reminder of winter. This moderately strenuous hike is 2.5 miles round trip through moderately rolling terrain. Ages 12+. Please join us! Reservations are required for all events and workdays.
