Hotly anticipated by animal lovers all along the mid-coast, the Humane Society of Knox County’s 2013 Pet Calendar is arriving September, 29th. The second official Calendar Release Party is at The Reading Corner on Main Street in Rockland on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are encouraged to meet, mingle and celebrate – you will leave smiling like our October featured pair, Cooper and Coal Bear. Refreshments will be served.
The calendar features photos of the pets of HSKC supporters as well as those of shelter animals that have been adopted. The photographs are stunning, the stories are heartwarming, and the year-long message is clear, positive and vital. And perhaps you see your own pet as a future Miss July or Mr. December? Forms for those who wish to sign up for a spot on next year’s calendar will be available at the party.
Last year’s calendar received rave reviews, and sneak peeks of the 2013 issue indicate that the new issue is equally impressive. The calendars cost $10 and make wonderful gifts. One hundred percent of the proceeds go toward helping the homeless animals at HSKC.
Calendars can be purchased at Huston Tuttle, Reading Corner, Loyal Biscuit, Harbor Road Veterinary Hospital, Nail Techniques and at the shelter at 17 Buttermilk Lane in Thomaston. The shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. Ordering information is also available on the shelter’s website, www.hskcme.org. Supplies are limited so buy early and buy often!
