Holiday icons set to sail into Wiscasset

WISCASSET, Maine — The Wiscasset Area Chamber of Commerce and the town of Wiscasset celebrate the kick-off of its first shop-local campaign, Think Outside the Box at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the  Wiscasset Commercial Pier. Fire pits on the dock and hot refreshments will be available while attendees wait for the arrival of Santa Claus at 3 p.m.
Santa Clause will sail up the Sheepscot in a lobster boat and he will be accompanied by Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman.
 The Wiscasset Athletic Boosters and free horse and wagon rides in the village.
A tree lighting ceremony will be held at 4:30 p. m.
The Morris Farm 4-H Club, WPS Partners in Education and the Wiscasset Middle School will have hot cider, hot cocoa, freshly baked goods, nachos and more available for purchase.
