ORLAND – Saturdays in July and August, Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust President Sarah LeVine will lead a hike in the 4,500-acre Great Pond Mountain Wildlands, meeting at the Wildlands’ South Gate (Rte. 1) at 10 am. Longer hikes (4+ miles) will alternate weekly with short hikes (2 miles).

Saturday, July 27, bring the kids on a short hike on Hothole Brook Trail to the summit of Bump Hill – it’s an interesting walk across Hothole Brook bridge, past a huge boulder with a big tree on it, then a quick scramble up a glacial boulder pile to the top, where you’re looking right up at Great Pond Mountain. We’ll carpool from South Gate to start at Hothole Brook trail junction.

Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water, snacks, sun and bug protection. For more info, contact Sarah at sarahlevine5@gmail.com or 207 667-1293.
