ORLAND, Maine – - Saturdays in July and August, Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust President Sarah LeVine will lead a hike in the 4,500-acre Great Pond Mountain Wildlands, meeting at the Wildlands’ South Gate (Rte. 1) at 10 am. Longer hikes (4+ miles) will alternate weekly with short hikes (2 miles).

Saturday, August 3 will be a longer hike on the new Birches Path to Flying Moose Mountain with a detour to the Forgotten Forest, a section of woodland untouched by the timber harvests of the 1990s. Meet at South Gate to carpool to the trailhead.
